 This painting is very similar to its inspiration, a painting I did in 2014 - 'The Crow's Gift'

The fact that crow transitions between the world we think we know and the reality we’re afraid of  is the truth. Does he know the difference? The expression in his green-blue eye has the answer.  He communicates with spirits from the past/future who use him as a conduit between the spirit world and the ‘present’. If you are paying attention and your message is clear, he will help guide you in Life. Make an effort to listen.  

The colours of the background suggest a surreal reality which is contrasted by his claw’s firm grip on the stump in the foreground. This grip symbolizes confidence in his role, his gift as a messenger.
